Who we are
Moatline is made by Next Nova Technologies (Pvt) Ltd, a web development and WordPress agency. Since 2017 we've built, maintained and repaired websites for businesses in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, and cleaned up more than 500 hacked WordPress sites along the way.
Why we built Moatline
Again and again, we were called in to sites where a security plugin said everything was fine. The infection was there all the same: hidden in a post or in Elementor data, stored in the database, loaded from a blockchain contract, or tucked inside a fake plugin that removed itself from the Plugins page. And after a cleanup, it often came back.
So we wrote our own scanner, built around the places modern malware actually hides and the tricks it uses to return. Every detection in Moatline comes from an infection we've seen on a real site. When we find something new during a cleanup, it goes into the next release. You can read some of those cases in our security guides.
What we promise
- Nothing changes without your say-so. The free plugin reports what it finds. Nothing is deleted or edited unless you click a button.
- No tracking. The plugin doesn't send your data anywhere. The only outside request is to WordPress.org, for official file checksums. See our privacy policy.
- The free plugin stays free. Scanning, two-step login, lockdown and hardening will never move behind a paywall. Pro is for people who want threats removed for them.
- Honest findings. We'd rather tell you a site is clean than invent a warning to sell you something. If Moatline gets something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
- We play well with others. Moatline isn't a firewall and doesn't try to replace one. It runs alongside Wordfence, Sucuri, Solid Security, All-In-One Security and Jetpack.
How we keep Moatline itself safe
- The free plugin is reviewed and hosted by WordPress.org, and every release passes WordPress's Plugin Check.
- Every release is listed in the public changelog.
- Security researchers can report issues privately. See Report a security issue.
